5th August 2019

Dear Residents of Holsworthy,

Following the latest incident at the weekend which involved a local man.
Holsworthy Town Council would like to send our thoughts to the family and a speedy recovery.

Over the last 24 – 48hrs, there has been a vast amount of negative comments on Social Media about Holsworthy Town, and I, as Mayor of Holsworthy feel that this is not the case. Holsworthy is and still is a wonderful safe place to live and this is a one-off isolated incident.
Holsworthy Police figures 2018/2019 show how the recorded crime rate has dropped by -23.3% in the last year.

Family members of the victim are on Social Media and as Holsworthy is very much a Community from which all of us take great pride in our area, please can you be reminded of the sensitivity of this matter.
If you do have any information on this incident please contact the Police on 101 quoting log reference 11 040819.

Kind Regards
Mayor Cllr. Joanne Heaven.
